December is filled with events to delight children of all ages!

Get in the Christmas spirit at Grass Valley’s Cornish Christmas every Friday from 6:00-9:00. It continues through the month of December.

LeGacy Presents is showing two plays this month. The first, Every Christmas Story Ever Told is playing at The Nevada Theatre through December 30. Their other play is  Miracle on 34th Street also playing at The Nevada Theater through December 30. For show times and more information, visit

Victorian Christmas is here again! Wander through downtown and find craft vendors, yummy food, hot mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts. This year there will be more entertainment, more music and more venues. Entertainment this year includes carolers, street performers, photos with Santa, Salvation Army brass band, the marching Presidents, a living Nativity, and so much more! The lively street fair will be on Wednesdays from 5:00-9:00 on December 5, 12, and 19, and on Sundays from 12:00-5:00 on December 16 and 23. Music in the Mountains presents the 30th annual Holiday Pops Concert concert at the Amaral Family Festival Center at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. You won’t want to miss this beautiful performance that will get you in the holiday spirit! The concert plays on December 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on December 9. Over 1,500 motorcyclists will ride through Nevada County for the 21st annual Food and Toy Run which takes place Saturday, December 8. Riders meet at 9:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 12:00 p.m. For more information, click HERE.

The Miners Foundry is pleased to present a Holiday Celebration of Dance featuring Holt Ballet Conservatory and The Movement Alliance, plus TMA School, Junior Company, and The Sierra College Dance Club, Tuesday, December 11, 5:30pm. The Celebration will present scenes from The Nutcracker and original modern dance choreography.

The Miners Foundry Cultural Center and the Nevada City Film Festival present “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” on Saturday, December 15. The special screening is part of the Food & Film Series, pairing movies with a fabulous dining experience.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

The Miners Foundry’s bi-annual, independent, juried craft fair showcases the local region’s top Etsy vendors, artisans, do-it-yourself crafters, featuring their unique, handmade, original & vintage items. The Winter Craft Fair will be held on Sunday, December 16, from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Admission is $3.00, children are admitted free of charge.
