Looking for a fun and safe way to spend 4th of July? Come to Nevada City and enjoy the patriotic parade that starts at 2:00 right in front of Broad Street Inn. Come to Summer Nights, one of Nevada City’s most popular events. The fun and free street fair is great for the whole family and dog-friendly! Enjoy music, art, vendors, classic cars, and the shops you know and love downtown. The street fair is only here for three Wednesdays: July 11, 18, & 25. Travel back in time this summer! Sierra Stages presents The Music Man, set exactly 100 years ago, July 1912. Watch the classic musical at the Nevada Theatre from July 12 to August 4. Tickets start at $15 and are available at the Nevada City Box Office or HERE.

The 16th Annual WorldFest is back this year from July 12-15 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Come to see performers such as Cake, Joe Craven Trio, Mumbo Gumbo and many many more! The Food and Film Series, put on by Miners Foundry and the Nevada City Film Festival, present Amélie, a classic French film nominated for 5 Academy Awards, on Friday July 20 at the Miners Foundry. Doors open at 5:00, the film starts at 6:00, and music and fare is at 8:00. Tickets are $16 for Magic Lantern Film Society and/or Miners Foundry Members, and $20 for non-members. Enjoy live music by Beaucoup Chapeaux, and classic French crepes by Isabelle’s Soul Kitchen Creperie are available for purchase. Next month’s film is Sideways. For more information, click HERE.

The Sierra Storytelling Festival returns to the North Columbia School House Cultural Center this year from July 27 – 29. Come and listen to African, Native American, and Jewish traditions and folk tales. Find ticket information online, HERE.
